The Innocent Flower

"Look like the innocent flower,/ but be the serpent under't." This was the exact right thing to say at the exact right time. At the moment when I said it I was quite furious at my husband for not knowing anything about how to murder people and leaving it up to me to figure the whole thing out. At the same time I managed to keep all the furry down and try to be understanding with Macbeth and I was really trying to get him to understand that we had to look innocent before and after we murdered the king so that no one would suspect us. I also had an ulterior motive with this one. I really wanted him to see how little he knew about murdering people so that he would follow my plan to the letter. By telling him such a simple fact about how to murder people that he did not know I figured that he would be in awe of my knowledge and allow himself to be my puppet so that I could lead him through the murder of the king flawlessly.
